WHO WORKS IN YOU? (PART 2)

“WHO WORKS IN YOU”: The tense “WORKS” is a present continuous tense and not a past, present or future tense. It accommodates the past, present and the future. This shows that God is constantly and continually working in His Children. It is an everyday, every moment affair and He does so per-unit-time. He does not waste time, as every working moment is crucial. He works effectively in His children to bring forth tangible results.

God works on the minds of His children, those who willingly submit themselves to Him, setting such hearts in His direction – the direction of righteousness, this in turn spurs commitment. He works on the heart, making it tender enough to hear and listen to Him. He gives great ideas to His children; ideas that would be of benefit to man, the environment, and glorify God’s name. He tunes the hearts of His own to His frequency so that they Hear Him, Know Him, Understand Him, Experience Him, and Increase in the Knowledge of Him.

He works His good and perfect work in His own; molding, engineering, and processing His own so that the output will be a result and product of His handiwork; of the eternal touch, (the touch of eternity). He also energizes His own, creating in them the power and desire to see, know and act in righteousness. Just as a person puts in effort when working, He puts in effort to set the minds of His own in line with His thoughts and plans for them.

This process is not a once and for all process, but a continuous one, molding and resetting the mind of the person into the mould or shape that would be useful for, and please the LORD.

We must know that the direction in which a person's mind is set will determine the direction in which the person will think, how he/she will think; whether constructive or destructive, how the person will act or behave, what the person will say and how it will be said, it will also determine the type of company such a person will keep. This is what is popularly known as "MINDSET". 

The direction in which such a person's mind is set is a function of who controls the heart. It is either God or the devil.

The devil is the commanding officer in "Stealing" (stealing people's properties, peace, joy life, destinies and more), "Killing" (killing people that one cannot create, killing the dreams and aspirations of people both young and old, male and female) and "Destroying" (Destroying their lives and properties, destroying their destinies, but God is the Commanding officer in "Blessing/Giving", "Giving life" and "Building up". Imagine the contrast.

“BOTH TO WILL AND TO ACT”: Man at the fall, lost his spontaneous ability to do good and live righteously. He handed it over to the devil willingly, so that ability was corrupted with sin. After the fall, man’s natural default settings became that of wickedness and sin, always needing the constant intervention and fine-tuning of a righteous force to tilt it to the direction of righteousness. It did not cost Cain anything to kill his brother; he only showed his default settings. The devil also constantly works in the lives of his, fine-tuning and setting their minds in the perspective of evil and to the frequency of destruction.

But in the life of the believer, when the engineering and processing is on, it starts to manifest in his/her will. His will is geared towards pleasing God and not self. The process of engineering in the life of a believer though never ends, as each step or module completed in the life of a believer is manifested in the will and inclination of the person, in whatever activity he/she is involved in. The will of such one is geared towards pleasing God, and this is revealed in spoken words, actions, gestures, friends and company kept, what he/she wears, places he/she goes or visits and more.

Even in his/her relationship with people, it will be seen that something is in the pipeline; something is being engineered in him/her to please God and not hurt his fellow men. This engineering process now sets us to get committed to the things of God in all ramifications of our lives. No one who is committed who hasn’t gone through this process of engineering by God, and is still going through the process. Our acts of commitment in various ways to the things that glorify Him are part of the result of His working in us. This process is not an instant one; rather there is a gradual and humble change in such person. The responses of such a person will be a product of God’s work in his/her life, and this will be made manifest in every area of his/her life: be it in Business, Academics, Marital, Social, Financial aspects of life.

As believers, after we have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ, it does not end there. We need to be sanctified daily – even on a per-second-billing basis, set apart for righteousness through the Holy Spirit. He is the one that empowers us to walk in righteousness – by faith, and not conform to the default settings of wickedness which the devil has pre-programmed into the lives of everyone born of flesh since the fall. God moulds only those who have His seal (The Holy Spirit), who are His children (Romans 8: 14)
