WHO WORKS IN YOU? (PART 1)

There are two powers which have constantly been at war with each other since the world was created. The aim of both is to control the hearts of men and use them either to carry out good or evil. These two powers need men to carry out their plans and activities. One side uses its influence through men to engineer evil and market its end product of destruction, while the other side constantly seeks to use its influence to carry out works of righteousness through men. Some things though are common to both sides; They are:
-          Both sides need men to carry out their desires and plans in this world;
-          Both sides are constantly at war for the control of the hearts of men.

For evil to be carried out in this world, men are needed, as they are the tools by which evil can be carried out. Likewise for righteousness, men are needed to carry out the plans of righteousness in righteousness; God for righteousness and the devil for evil.

Every human being is either a tool of righteousness or unrighteousness, a tool in the hands of God or one in the hands of the devil. We can decide to willingly give ourselves over to God as tools to be used for righteousness or yield ourselves over to the devil as tools to be used to perpetrate evil.

There is a fine line (divide) distinguishing the tools (people) of righteousness, of God, from the tools (people) of unrighteousness and evil, of the devil. This line is that which has been created by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. On one side of the line (divide) are the tools washed and justified by the blood of the Lamb through repentance from sin, being constantly sanctified for service in righteousness; on the other side of the divide are the tools consecrated by the devil for sin through unrighteousness. Anyone who accepts the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on the Altar of Calvary, has voluntarily become a tool in the hands of The Most High God.

The side you are on determines who controls and directs your thoughts and subsequent actions. Every tool (person) has a user; God or the devil. Either God is working in you, using you for righteousness or the devil is working in you, using you for sin through unrighteousness.

The Bible in Paul’s letter to the Philippians says: “It is God Who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose” Phil 2:13 (NIV).
This supports the truth that we are tools, either in the hand of God (our Creator) or in the hands of the devil (the father of all liars and deceit).

Looking at the verse closely (Using the binoculars of the mind), let us break it up into small bits and pick each bit so that the Holy Spirit can help us understand it better.
“IT IS GOD”: This means that it is God and not man who is the center and pivot of this. It is not by our strength, wisdom, knowledge, or understanding, neither is it by what we have or what we know, rather, it is God who is the initiator of his plans and not by or with the help of any man. There is no tool that can work by itself. There is a need for the tool to be used by someone to fully activate the functions and potentials.
For everyone that professes to be a Child of God, Christ must be the center of such live, reflecting in anything and everything he says and does. He is the one that is meant to be our center. If He is the center of your life, your every decision will be a derivative of His direction and instruction (the structure that He has created and that he is creating in our hearts through His Word). If God is not the center of your life, then inevitably, the devil is.
