WHO WORKS IN YOU (3)

“ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PURPOSE”: God’s purpose has never been bad or evil, neither has it brought anyone to ruin. It does not lead in the way of disaster neither does it take the route of destruction. Jeremiah 29: 11 helps us to understand better and see that God’s plan and purpose for us is always a good one. He desires to bring out the best in us. He daily works in us as we yield to Him; as the intensity and level to which we yield to Him is the level and intensity to which He can work in us.

A blacksmith or engineer can only make use of the tools that are made available to him, even if there are so many tools and resources on ground, he cannot make use of one that has not been officially handed over to him so as not to cause unnecessary tension or friction between the owner of the tool and himself. God will only make use of what we give him willingly. The more we submit to Him, the more He works in us, the more we get committed to Him, the more He opens the eyes of our understanding, the more we increase in the knowledge of Him, and the more the eagerness grows in us to know Him more.

God engineers us to fit into His plan and purpose for our lives. Keying into this purpose takes God working in us, and the level to which God would work in us is a function of how much of our lives we surrender to Him. Out of a scale of 100, if you a believer submit yourself to God to the tune of 20%, God’s work and engineering process in your life will be at 20% capacity. God does not force Himself on people, Revelation 3: 20, gives us better insight into this. This passage not only applies to unbelievers, but also to believers alike.

How high you can jump will determine how far you can reach. If you give God 40% operating capacity in your life, be sure to get the result worth the 40% you put in. If its 10%, well, the rest 90% will remain in the domain of self, and unfortunately, the man who first allocated all his resources to self was the devil (right there in heaven in the beginning). So anyone who does not give his/her all to God has kept some back for the devil to make use of. We can be sure that the part of our lives which we do not surrender over to God will be used by the devil, who does not need a legal invitation to make use of the free and dormant resources. Such a person will have more of the devil’s engineering process initiated and completed in his/her life.

The product of the devil’s engineering process in the life of a person brings forth all manner of evil and wickedness. Galatians 5: 19 – 21. The devil also constantly moulds the minds available to him with the master-mould of sin and wickedness. He gradually takes control of the heart and in the most subtle of ways destroys the minds of such ones, also making them agents of destruction and wickedness. These acts of destruction are made known in the thoughts of the mind, spoken words and ways in which these words are spoken, actions (at work, home and socially), places such people go, company and friends they keep, clothes they wear, how they earn and spend money, and so much more.

The devil constantly engineers people to steal, kill and destroy, and he does this in so many ways. His ways have always been geared towards evil and wickedness since the beginning, so anyone who works unrighteousness and evil is of the devil. Taking what does not belong to you is stealing, and it is also a gradual act of destruction. If a person tells a lie, he is gradually destroying himself by sowing such seed.
When we allow God’s engineering operations and works to operate at full capacity in our lives, we will in turn function effectively, but if we don’t, we will mal-function effectively.
